MINOR LEAGUE TEAM SET SINGLES
"BASEBALL CARDS FOR THE TRUE COLLECTOR"
From Dave Weber in Denver, Colorado
YOUR SOURCE FOR SINGLE CARDS FROM MINOR LEAGUE TEAM SETS SINCE 1992
Hello
and thanks for visiting my web site. I specialize in breaking up
team card sets from minor league baseball teams and selling the
individual cards. This allows collectors to obtain the cards they
need without having to buy the whole set. My customers include
autograph collectors, college alumni collectors, state or local area
collectors, and folks with many other varied collecting projects.
I enjoy working with serious collectors and have helped hundreds
find the minor league baseball cards they needed in the 16+ years I have been in business. My
inventory of team set cards is extensive, covering the period from 1972
to the present. About 6,100 minor league team sets were issued
during that time and I have cards from about 97% of them. I
attempt to obtain all the minor league team sets issued every year,
including Independent League sets. I might not have the cards you
seek, but there's a good chance I will.
I
have developed an extensive computerized data base of minor league team
set checklist information, and can produce a list of team set
cards which exist for any player for the period from 1972 to 2010. Click on the "ORDERING" icon
below for more info on obtaining a free data base search.
I
do not sell major league baseball cards except for a few oddball sets
which are listed under the "OTHER CARDS FOR SALE" icon. I do not
specialize in non-team set minor league cards such as Just Minors,
Bowman, TriStar, Justifiable, etc. - I call them wax pack cards.
I do have a lot of wax pack minor league cards from 1989 thru
1995, but none since then. I do not sell complete minor league team sets - click the "COMPLETE SETS" icon for a list of dealers who do.
This
web site is a way to make contact with customers and to explain my
business, prices, policies, etc. I don't sell cards directly
through the web site. Please check out the info in the links
below and contact me by email or phone if you have questions or want to
place an order.
Update: September 4, 2011
2011 Minor League
Team Sets - All of the known 2011 team sets have now been produced.
Only a few affiliated minor league teams did not produce card sets this
year - they are: Burlington Royals, Great Falls, Idaho Falls, Jamestown,
Kingsport, and Staten Island. These prospects sets were not produced:
Calif Lg Prospects, Eastern Lg Prospects and Southern Lg Prospects Four teams
did not produce "regular" sets but do have Disabled American
Veterans sets - they are Jupiter, Palm Beach, Salt Lake, and Reno. Only
28 Independent teams produced card sets this year - the lowest figure for some
time.
The Disabled American
Veterans again produced a high number of 2011 sets - around 30+ - I
don't have an exact count yet. They vary in size from 5 to 30 cards. I have a
few of them and will probably be able to obtain all the rest, but that will not
be confirmed for a while yet. I am attempting to obtain checklists for all of
the DAV sets so that they will be included in my data base for you whether or
not I get the cards in. If you have a checklist for Bowie or Salt Lake I would
appreciate it if you would contact me.
2011 Card Prices
- As I mentioned in my last Update, I lost my team set supplier this
year and have had to buy 2011 sets directly from the teams at retail prices, and
pay a whole lot for shipping. This has significantly increased my costs for 2011
cards and after a great deal of analysis and thought I've decided to price
2011 team set cards at $2.10 each. I hope that this slight
increase over the price of recent years will not be too big a burden to many of
you - I decided that the 2011 cards have to "pay their own way." There are no
increases in prices for earlier cards. Because of huge
increases in postage rates for the small padded envelopes I use for mailing, I
am now paying postage for all orders over $16 rather than the previous $10.
That's the only change - my volume discount schedule is the same. Some good news is that because of the high
shipping charges I had to pay to the teams, I bought more of each 2011 set than
I would have in the past, meaning that I should have more of the cards you
need.
2011 Card Orders - I plan to start filling
2011 orders in mid-September. Feel free to send an order along whenever you wish
- I'll keep it on file and fill it in the order received.
Buying 2011 Minor League Sets -
If you have any complete or almost complete 2011
team sets for sale, I may very well be interested in purchasing them.
Please contact me and we'll see if we can work something out.
Vacation -
I plan to be on vacation from October 4 thru 31. No orders will go out
then - the housesitter doesn't do cards. If you get your order in before then
I'll do my best to get it out to you.
And finally -
thanks so much to the many customers who helped me out over the past
few months by letting me know about prices on 2011 cards, buying and shipping cards
for me, picking up promotional cards, and in some cases just sending along a set
as a gift. I really appreciate it!!
Happy Collecting!
